Dear Santa Fe Corvette Travelers,

   I need to get all of us together to finalize some planning and coordinate a few issues.  I also want to hand out information for this trip.  I am calling a meeting for all going on the Santa Fe trip to meet at Vintage Autohaus on September 9 at 7:00 p.m.   At this same time Larry is having a short review of the final plans for the American Freedom Caravan.  By combining these meetings we hope to create fewer meetings overall.  We will make it short and sweet but I really do need all of you to try and make this meeting.  Mark your Calendar for Sept. 9 please.   Thank you so very much.  Becky Houghton

CORVETTE’S IN

SANTA FE, NEW MEXICO

SEPTEMBER 18 – 21, 2008

The Amarillo Area Corvette Club will enjoy a fall weekend driving fun mountain roads and changing leaves of the New Mexico Mountains.  Santa Fe will be our base, we will enjoy driving, shopping, history and excellent eats. 

Thursday September 18:  We will travel in two groups, one leaving Thursday about noon and the second leaving Thursday evening about 6pm for Santa Fe.

Hotel:  The Territorial Inn  505-989-7737.  We have a block of rooms at a special discount.  Our block of rooms are under the name of “Amarillo Corvette Club”.  Rooms range from $125.00 per night to $135.00 and 3 special rooms are with two bedrooms to be shared between two couples for $160.00 a night or $80.00 per couple.  We are limited to space for 19 couples total so call NOW!! 

Friday September 19:  We will begin the day with a special drive unparalleled scenic beauty.  We will go Northwest taking in some of the most challenging winding roads of New Mexico.  Becky will have a surprise spot for our lunch in the middle of a day full of lots of driving.   Friday evening we will enjoy a traditional Santa Fe’an meal.  Please let Becky know if you do not plan to eat a meal with the club.  Becky Houghton, 374-0055 or tuxxlady@sbcglobal.net  

Saturday September 20:  This is your day to get out and enjoy the Santa Fe Plaza.  Shop till you drop and eat to your hearts content.  In the afternoon those who want to drive up the ski mountain can do this about 2:00 p.m.

This is always a favorite of our members as this takes us up into the breath-taking Aspen trees with their fire yellow leaves.  We will return to the Hotel and prepare for a romantic evening of culinary delights.   

Sunday September 21:  We will return to Amarillo as a group or individually, which ever suits your schedule best.
