AUGUST 26: 7:00 PM Sept 11 planning meeting Vintage Autohaus.

 

SEPTEMBER 9 : 7:00 PM Sept 11 planning meeting, (if needed) at Vintage Autohaus , also a meeting of those traveling to Santa Fe on September 18, 19, 20, 21 at the same location.

 

SEPTEMBER 6: 6:00 Panhandle Car Council Cruise Night. Hillside & Bell

 

SEPTEMBER 11:  7TH ANNUAL AMERICAN FREEDOM CORVETTE CARAVAN

        Thursday – 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Westgate Chevrolet….

       AACC hosts a city wide caravan of corvettes thru the city to

       honor our Firemen, Veteran’s, Active Service and Police.

 

SEPTEMBER  13:  6:00 p.m.  Business Meeting at Paul & Sherry Fleming home. Sherry will have details on how to get to their home in an email. Bring your dish to the cookout dinner hosted by the Flemings.

 

SEPTEMBER 14: 4:00 p.m. Trash Pick Up of our adopted section of

           Highway, meet on highway 3 miles before entrance of Palo Duro

           Canyon.

 

SEPTEMBER 18, 19, 20, & 21:  Annual Santa Fe, New Mexico  

           Cruising Corvettes.  Depart Sept. 18 (one group at noon, second

           group after work)  Staying at the luxury Territorial Inn & Spa just

           one block off the Plaza, rooms $125.00 to $135.00, free breakfast,

           free private parking & more included. Friday enjoy a rare corvette

           tailored scenic drive & excursion through the New Mexico

           Mountains & Indian territory.  Saturday enjoy the town square

           shopping in Santa Fe & an afternoon winding drive up to the ski

           basin & an optional scenic chair lift ride.  Sunday return on your

OCTOBER 18:  6:00 p.m. Business Meeting at 5601 Enterprise, Amarillo Board of Realtors Building .  We will cruise to Groom, Tx. and eat at the Rustler’s Route 66 Steak House.

 

OCTOBER 26: Hooter’s Restaurant Car Show, 11am set up; 1-5 show

 

OCTOBER 24, 25 & 26:  OKC-Precision Driving Training

          October 24: 5:00 p.m. drive to OKC

          October 25: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Precision Driving School

                     Or some ladies may want to go shopping.

         October 26:  Return to Amarillo  (details next pg.)

   **PRECISION DRIVING SCHOOL:  This is the same driving school our DPS officers do their training.  This is on hands, behind the wheel training.  At the end of the course you will receive a certificate to give your insurance agent for an annual discount on your insurance.  The class teaches:   shuffle steering, forward serpentine, off road recovery, turn-around, backing, controlled braking, evasive steering, skid control, ¾ mile emergency response course, accident avoidance technique and more.  The teacher to student ratio is 1:4.  Class begins at 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday October 25, in Oklahoma City.  We can use our cars and if we have 10 or more the teachers can tailor it more to us and our cars.  For skid control techniques we will use their car.  It is $100.00 per person or if we have 10 or more it drops to $90.00 per person.  Remember the savings you will get on your insurance.  This will be interactive exciting fun learning.  Please let Becky Houghton know that you want to be a part of this class so she will know when she has 10 or more and we can reserve the school exclusively for AACC.  Payments and forms are due to Becky by October 7th. NOVEMBER 15:  6:00 p.m. Business Meeting at 5601 Enterprise, Amarillo Board of Realtors Building .  “Giving Thanks With  Friends”  pot luck dinner after meeting at the  same location.

 

NOVEMBER 16: 3:30 p.m. Trash Pick Up of our adopted section of

                       Highway, meet on highway 3 miles before entrance of

                              Palo Duro Canyon.  Wear Gloves.

 

DECEMBER 6: 9:30 a.m. Ladies Coffee – location to be announced.

DECEMBER 7:  CHRISTMAS PARTY & CLUB AUCTION** Our annual Christmas Party held on a Sunday evening also includes a live auction and silent auction of items our members bring and buy.  Anything goes, not just car items are welcome to this.  If you think a member will buy it, please bring it.  Many have great fun being quite creative and it is such a fun evening.  Funds raised help fund donations to our Charities.
